The society honors the College’s consistent donors

Michael ’82 and Linda Tedori Whitman ’83 have taken on new leadership roles for the College as co-chairs of the Fleck Consistent Giving Society. The positions have three-year terms.

Founded in 2006 in honor of the late Cyrus S. Fleck ’20, the society is comprised of the more than 4,000 alumni who have made gifts to the College for five or more consecutive years.

Michael Whitman is a member of Lafayette Leadership Council and the Marquis Parents Council, and has been very involved with both career services and admissions over the years.  He has hosted internships and externships as well as interviewed prospective students as an admissions alumni representative.  While at Lafayette, Michael was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and the men’s basketball team.

Also a member of the Marquis Parents Council and an alumni admissions representative, Linda Tedori Whitman was a class agent for her 25th reunion. As a student, she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.

They are the parents of Katherine ’11 and Christopher ’12.

“Is College Worth the Cost?”

At Lafayette, the answer is a resounding yes. Payscale.com reports that Lafayette is third among all liberal arts schools in average starting salary (excluding military academies) and sixth in 30-year return on investment.
