Professor Susan Averett Will Be Featured on PBS 39′s Tempo Public Square March 5

She provides expert commentary for a segment on the changing economy and the middle class
Susan Averett, Dana Professor of Economics, was interviewed for the segment “What is Middle Class?” appearing 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 5 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 7 as part of PBS 39′s Tempo Public Square.

Averett will discuss the changing economy and how it has affected the state of the middle class in America today.  She also will address the idea of the American Dream in light of the current economic climate. Averett is the author of Women and the Economy: Family, Work, and Pay and teaches courses on health economics, women and the economy, and econometrics.

“Is College Worth the Cost?”

At Lafayette, the answer is a resounding yes. Payscale.com reports that Lafayette is third among all liberal arts schools in average starting salary (excluding military academies) and sixth in 30-year return on investment.
