The College’s Working Group on Greek Life and the Campus Community invites the thoughts and opinions of all members of the College community, including alumni, related to Greek life at Lafayette.

The working group for months has been involved in examining many aspects of the College’s fraternity and sorority program and its impact on the campus community. As a part of this examination, the panel is inviting members of the campus community and alumni of the College to share their perspectives on Greek life through use of the survey on working group’s web site.

Formed last year and made up of trustees, faculty, students, alumni, and staff, the working group is examining how fraternities and sororities can best contribute to Lafayette’s future in the context of the College’s strategic plan. Chaired by Barbara Levy ’77, chair of the Trustees’ Committee on Student Life, and Ashley Juavinett ’11, former president of Student Government, this study was recommended by the 2009-10 Ad Hoc Committee on Residence Life, chaired by Trustee Robert Sell ’84, which produced a comprehensive review of the College’s residence life program.

“Is College Worth the Cost?”

At Lafayette, the answer is a resounding yes. Payscale.com reports that Lafayette is third among all liberal arts schools in average starting salary (excluding military academies) and sixth in 30-year return on investment.
