Members of Lafayette’s Technology Clinic and the Landis Community Outreach Center worked with Easton’s West Ward Neighborhood Partnership and West Ward residents last weekend to spruce up the neighborhood in and around Raspberry Park.
The project is part of a year-long effort by students in Tech Clinic to assist the West Ward neighborhood in becoming more ecologically friendly. Tech Clinic is a hands-on course that brings together students from different majors to help solve real-world problems of a business, non-profit organization, or government body.
Activities included cleaning up the park, discussing recycling efforts, repainting blacktop games, and conducting a town-hall style discussion of issues and future improvements for the Raspberry Park area. A cooking and food preparation demonstration using locally grown produce, as well as a recycling awareness activity hosted by Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection, also took place.
Results from NSSE can provide prospective students with insights into how they might learn and develop at a given college.
