  1. Ruslan,

It is so great to hear from you!! I have been very busy with high school basketball, so I apologize for taking too much time to get back to you. You sound well and very happy. What are you doing and where are you living?
I, too, remember your first day of school when I had to call upon my very limited Ukrainian to help you. All I could tell you back then in Ukrainian was eat, drink beer, or sleep. I don’t think I was much help, but you overcame my shortcomings.
Please keep in contact and update me on your years since graduating. My e-mail is gary.laubach@rcn.net. I look forward to hearing from you.

  2. Hello Mr. Laubach!
You probably don’t remember me, but I had you as my teacher in 1982/83. I’m the Ukrainian kid who couldn’t speak any English.
I just wanted to let you know that you have made a lasting impact on me with your teaching style and personality, and I consider you to be the best teacher I ever had. Even after almost 30 years I still get a smile every time I see a unique or questionable TV commercial as it reminds me of you explaining the intricacies of marketing in your class. I just never forgot it.
I tell my kids (I have 2 beautiful daughters) that to be good at something, one must be passionate about it and enjoy doing it, and I always give an example of Mr. Laubach, the teacher who actually made a class enjoyable, each and every time.
So I just wanted to thank you for a job well done!

  4. Hello Mr. Laubach,
I was wondering if you are the same Mr. Laubach who taught in Wilson High School in the early to mid 80s?
