Lafayette concluded its celebration of Black History Month with its finale performance night in Farinon College Center. Hosted by the Association of Black Collegians, the event had a range of performances including step, oration, poetry, interpretive dance, and music.

The celebration’s keynote talk was presented by award-winning author Siddharth Kara, who discussed his book Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery. Another highlight was the discussion panel “Hip-Hop Activism in the Age of Obama and the Tea Party.” Other events included an art exhibit, a historical exhibit, a research symposium on race, music, discussions, and performances.
