Lafayette’s fundraising program has earned national honors as the recipient of an award from CASE, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.

The College has been recognized with CASE’s Overall Improvement Award for Fundraising, part of CASE’s Circle of Excellence program, which honors exemplary advancement initiatives and activities.

The award was voted on by a panel of college and university fundraising officers.

“Your institution is one of an exceptional group of colleges, universities, and independent schools recognized for overall performance or for overall improvement in fundraising,” says Brian Flahaven, CASE’s director of recognition programs. “Because your fundraising program was judged by a panel of your peers, this award is not only a recognition of its high value to your institution, but also an acknowledgement of its stature as a best practice that contributes to the advancement profession overall.”

In part, the recognition of Lafayette’s fund raising efforts was triggered by an increase in alumni participation from 34% in 2009-10 to 38% in 2011-12.  In addition, total cash received increased from $15.3 million in 2009-10 to $26.9 million in 2011-12.

“We are honored to be recognized by CASE and our peers as having a superior fund raising program,” says Jim Dicker ’85, vice president for development and college relations. “This, of course, is a testimony to Lafayette College and the development staff.  But just as important is the dedication, commitment, and passion that thousands of alumni donors, parents, and friends have for the College.”
