I am pleased to provide an update on the search for Lafayette’s next president.
Members of the Presidential Search Committee have worked closely in July and August with members of the College’s administration and our consultant search firm, Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, to develop and finalize plans for conducting the search. This includes establishing a timeline for search committee meetings to evaluate applicants and nominees, conduct initial and follow-up interviews with candidates, and formulate our final recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
The faculty representatives on the search committee developed and circulated a survey in August to gather input from the College’s faculty. This week, the committee hosted two forums on campus to provide faculty an opportunity to discuss the input that had been received and share additional perspectives. The committee is grateful for that input.
I also am pleased to announce that the search committee will host open forums in several locations to provide alumni, parents, and friends with close ties to the College an opportunity to offer their views on the qualities, skills, and other factors the committee should consider in seeking Lafayette’s 17th president. The schedule appears below.
Alumni, parents, and friends also may share their views with the search committee via a survey on the presidential search website. Your thoughts on the challenges and opportunities our next president must face and on the qualifications and characteristics that person must possess would be most appreciated by those of us charged with selecting our next president.
We will advertise the position in higher education publications during the first week of September and have prepared a formal Prospectus to serve as a reference document for potential applicants. It will be posted on the presidential search website shortly, and a printed copy may be obtained by contacting James F. Krivoski, secretary to the search committee, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your interest and participation in this important process.
