Basketball Teams Earn Sweep on Rivalry Weekend

The Lafayette men’s and women’s basketball teams both earned decisive victories over Lehigh during Rivalry Weekend.

The women hosted Lehigh Saturday afternoon as co-captain Danielle Fiacco ’14 tallied 17 points to lead four Leopards with double-figure scoring in a 68-52 win. The Leopards went 24-of-53 from the floor (45.3%) and knocked down 16 of their 20 free throw attempts. The Maroon and White dominated on the glass, notching a 47-29 rebounding advantage.

The men dominated Lehigh, 78-57, Sunday afternoon at Stabler Arena, highlighted by five blocks and 17 points from Levi Giese ’13. Giese was one of five Leopards in double figures. The team shot 55 percent from the field. Lehigh is the Patriot League champion and defeated Duke last year in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
