Videos: Scenes and Speech Excerpts from Jimmy Carter’s visit

Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States, gave a lecture, “Reflections on Human Rights and Democracy,” at Lafayette College April 22. It was the inaugural Robert ’69 and Margaret Pastor Lecture in International Affairs. Carter gave his opinions on issues such as peace and civic engagement, and talked about his work on behalf of human rights, democracy, and peace at the Carter Center since its founding in 1982.

In April, Lafayette also hosted visits and lectures by renowned primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall, who delivered the Thomas Roy and Lura Forrest Jones Visiting Lecture for 2012-13 April 11, and Tony Blair, former prime minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, who gave the Lives of Liberty Lecture for 2012-13 April 8.
