Reunion headquarters opens Friday in Pfenning Alumni Center to welcome back returning alumni, especially those in class years ending in “4” and “9.”
The weekend is full of events planned for catching up with old friends, reliving the nostalgia of college days, and creating new memories to treasure for years to come.
A larger crowd than usual is expected Friday to attend the special kickoff Reunion College from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. celebrating Lafayette’s athletic tradition in advance of the historic 150th Lafayette-Lehigh rivalry game Nov. 22 at Yankee Stadium. College archivists Diane Windham Shaw and Elaine Stomber ’89 will provide an illustrated look at the history from 1880 to the present.
The welcome convocation and first State of the College address by President Alison Byerly will be held 8:15 p.m. Friday in Colton Chapel, followed by step-singing in front of old Pardee and the All-Alumni Social and Dancing under the tent on the Quad.
Some highlights of Saturday’s events include a celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Acopian Engineering Center, groundbreaking for renovation of Delta Kappa Epsilon house, Reunion College programs on the founding of Safe Harbor, the Safe Zone program, and aerodynamics, as well as Campus Crawl and an LGBTQ & Ally networking reception.
Stop by the My Rivalry tent on the Quad to tell your favorite Lafayette-Lehigh story. The best stories will be featured in the countdown to Rivalry 150.
