New calendar launched

ITS and the Division of Communications have launched a new version of the College calendar that includes a new featured events block, a re-worked approach to ongoing events, support for weekly calendar digests, and more. Electronic book collection releases app

Ebrary, a collection of over 50,000 academic electronic books to which the library subscribes, has just released an app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Recreation Services announces promotions, additions

Recreation Services has welcomed new staff members Xiao Cui ’13, assistant facility supervisor, Natasha Gordon ’13, associate sports clubs supervisor, and Luke Smith ’14, assistant IM events supervisor. In addition, Javauhn Caines ’12 has been promoted to associate IM events supervisor, Glenford Robinson ’13 to associate facility supervisor, and Janka Lovering ’13 to head fitness supervisor. What is SOPA all about?

Nathan Lager, systems administrator for Information Technology Services (ITS), writes about the controversial Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the ITS Staff Blog. SOPA would expand the ability of U.S. law enforcement to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. It has many critics, including Lager. Tuition, other bills available online

The Controller’s Office has made electronic distribution of student account bills available, enabling students and their authorized family members to view their tuition bills online and see transactions on the account. Other services made available in December are multiple avenues for online payment and electronic refunds. Learn more about these new features

iPhone app connects to computing training videos

The Lynda.com iOS app now works for lynda.lafayette.edu. On the login screen, click the [Web portal log in] button and type in https://lynda.lafayette.edu in the URL field. When you click [Submit] you will be prompted to enter your Lafayette Network ID and password for access to your lynda.com account.
