For several decades, nearly 800 worldwide Lafayette College alumni have been instrumental in assisting the admissions office recruit thousands of students. These students have included merit scholars, athletes, performing artists, and students from varied backgrounds, all of whom have made valuable contributions to campus life. Competition for the best and brightest students is keen. As college costs rise, we must now, more than ever, explain to prospective students and their families the value of a Lafayette education and the College's remarkable commitment to need-based financial aid. Students admitted to Lafayette generally have terrific options for their college education. Enrolling strong, interesting classes will, therefore, require a concerted effort on the part of all members of the Lafayette community. As an AAR, your primary function is to promote the educational and personal opportunities offered at Lafayette at college fairs and high school visits and through personal interviews. As well, you will be asked to provide the admissions office with supplementary information about the applicants you have interviewed. The time commitment is varied, but flexible, and depends, in part, on the high schools and recruitment events you agree to cover. |
