Because of my engagement with student life, I have a better idea about people, cultural competence, and working with other individuals toward common goals. Like many students at Lafayette, I belong to a lot of small, tight-knit groups on campus, but people have to realize individually that they are responsible for engaging others who are outside those groups. That's why I’m a member of the Landis Center staff and the Lafayette Activities Forum board. I volunteered when I was in high school and so it was a natural progression to join Landis when I came to Lafayette. It’s been one of the most important things in my intellectual growth here. I’ve seen how other people live. I’m more acquainted with the world of social services and social welfare and just caring for your fellow man.
