Students who have decided that Lafayette is the college of their choice may request early consideration of their application under the Early Decision Plan. Decisions on such applications normally are made within 30 days of receipt of your completed application forms. Applicants admitted under the Plan must withdraw applications to other institutions. Lafayette guarantees to meet the demonstrated financial need of students admitted under the Early Decision Plan who adhere to the following criteria for consideration. Early-decision candidates who apply for financial aid are required to file the CSS Profile with estimated information as early as October 1, but no later than two weeks after filing the admissions application, and must also file the FAFSA by February 15, 2009. Copies of 2008 tax returns, W-2 schedules, and any supplements are required for the initial determination of need. Signed copies of 2008 tax returns along with schedules and W-2s for both student and parent(s) must be mailed to the financial aid office by March 15, 2009. The Early Decision Plan agreement is mailed with Lafayette's official application packet. Students who apply for Early Decision using the Common Application should mark the appropriate box on page 1 of the form. The application deadline is January 1. After submitting their application, regular-decision students may change their application to Early Decision until February 15. For students who apply for regular decision, notification is sent on or about April 1. Reply must be made by May 1. No Early Decision applications are considered before November 1. Early Decision candidates who are applying for financial aid must submit the CSS profile within two weeks of filing their applications.
