The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund ( MMMF ), an outreach program of the
World Bank Family Network, provides financial assistance to women from
developing countries during their studies in the United States or Canada.
The MMMF annually awards about six to ten grants of approximately $12,000
each.
The application must be filled out online at www.mmmf-grants.org .
Application forms will be available starting November 4, 2009. Supporting
documents must be sent through the mail, in one envelope , to Margaret
McNamara Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 27255, Washington DC 20038-7255 . The

American Water Works Association (Pennsylvania Section) encourages study
in fields relating to the water supply industry (treatment plant
operators and managers, environmentalists, consultants, manufacturers,
public health) and in May 2010 is offering a $2,000 scholarship to
eligible students.
Eligibility:
- Must have completed one semester of the college junior year or
be a college senior
- Must be pursuing a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry,
business or other field which may lead to career in the water supply
industry
- Must be attending a PA college or maintain a permanent residence
in PA

The Gilman Scholarship Online Spring and Summer 2010 Application is now open!
The Gilman International Scholarship Program is accepting applications from students participating in study abroad programs during the Spring and Summer 2010. The online application is available at www.iie.org/gilman. During the 2009-2010 academic year over 1,700 scholarships will be awarded. The Gilman Scholarship is open to all U.S. undergraduate students, who meet the criteria listed below:
- United States Citizen
- Undergraduate student attending a U.S. institution of higher education
- Receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of study abroad
- Currently applying to or has been accepted into a study abroad program and will receive academic credit at the home institution.
- Studying abroad for at least four weeks and no more than one academic year in one country
- Studying abroad in a country not currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba
- Summer 2010 Pilot Program!
The Gilman Scholarship Program is piloting a special summer award cycle for students participating in summer 2010 study abroad programs. To be eligible applicants must meet all of the criteria listed above and must be majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field. Please note that applicants are not required to study a STEM subject while abroad to be eligible for the scholarship.
Applications for the Summer 2010 awards will be available during both the Fall and Spring application cycles. Students are strongly encouraged to submit their applications during the first application cycle (by the October 6, 2009 deadline) to ensure timely notification of award. Applicants who miss the October 6, 2009 deadline can apply during the second award cycle, but will not be notified of their award status until the first week of May.
