International Student Financial Aid

For a small number of international students, Lafayette offers financial aid packages that cover need demonstrated in the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA). A minimum $1,000 annual family contribution is expected. Competition for this aid is keen. Due to limited resources, Lafayette cannot offer financial aid to all foreign students who meet admission standards.

If you are selected for financial aid, you may be encouraged to find a part-time job on campus as part of your aid package. Most campus jobs require 10 to 12 hours of work per week. Expenses at Lafayette are competitive with those of other privately endowed colleges and universities with highly selective admission. An estimate of yearly expenses (excluding tuition, room, and board) is $3,000.

Any student who has undertaken postsecondary coursework will be considered a candidate for transfer admission and should contact the admissions office for a transfer application and specific instructions. Financial aid is not available for international transfer students.

Students with applications pending for Permanent Resident status will be considered for financial aid along with international students as described above until proof of approval, such as the nine-digit alien registration number verified by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), is received.

REMEMBER: For maximum consideration for funding, the International Student Financial Aid form should be submitted along with this application by the deadline, January 1.
