
WOMEN'S AND GENDER STUDIES

Requirements for the minor: Five approved courses, beginning with Women's
Studies 101 and including four electives from among the Women's and Gender Studies
courses and the following list:
Africana Studies 213: Racism and Sexism
Anthropology & Sociology 212: Sex and Gender: A Cross-Cultural View
English 219: Literary Women
Government & Law 204: Gender and the Law
History 264: Women in American History
Philosophy 215: Feminist Philosophy
Psychology 248: Psychology of Gender
Other relevant courses may be approved by petition to the Women's and Gender
Studies Coordinator, including departmental Special Topics, Independent
Study, Honors, or Internship courses. The coordinator will publish during
registration period a list of relevant courses to be offered the next
semester. Women's and Gender Studies minors are strongly encouraged to take Women's
Studies 390, 391 or 380, 381 in the senior year.
