Factors considered in evaluating each student's application include academic performance in secondary school, class rank, and the quality of courses taken; the candidate's personal character such as motivation, social awareness, ambition, individualism, and potential for leadership as exhibited through involvement in community and extracurricular activities.*

Students applying for admission for the fall of 2008 at Lafayette College should submit the results of the SAT, or ACT (with writing).

The results of SAT Subject Tests are recommended, but not required for admission. Some academic departments will use scores from these tests for placement purposes.

Lafayette uses the Common Application. You will be asked to complete a two-page supplemental form.

*Students admitted to Lafayette, as regular students, must, at the time of their matriculation:

  1. Have a high school diploma;
  2. Have the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma; or
  3. Are beyond the age of compulsory school attendance in the State in which the institution is physically located.

The application deadline is January 1, 2008.
