Auditions for Plays from the Provincetown Players
In makeshift theaters on a wharf at the tip of Cape Cod and in the heart of Greenwich Village, the Provincetown Players created exciting new plays that exploded old ideas and pushed American drama into the modern age. Short plays by original members of this ground-breaking group—Susan Glaspell, Floyd Dell, Eugene O'Neill, John Reed, and others—offer a kaleidoscopic look back at America's first real bohemians in the turbulent years when the hangover from the Great War turned into the Roaring Twenties.

Casting 8+ men, 6+ women [Some roles will double.]
Lafayette College Theater is committed to color-blind casting. All students are encouraged to audition.
Please read the plays before auditioning. Scripts are available for 24-hour perusal at the Williams Center for the Arts main office, room 132.

Science of Success
The purpose of this 50-minute workshop is to assist high performing students as well as struggling students to maximize their efforts and achieve greater success in the classroom. Many students spend significant amounts of time studying and yet their efforts may yield less than optimal results. This workshop will present several best practices that can enhance motivation, memory, and concentration. Last year more than half of the first-year class attended voluntarily. Of those who attended, approximately 94% stated they would be likely to use the information.
There is no RSVP needed. It is my sincere hope that, after participating in this session, students will achieve more, both in and out of the classroom, and their levels of engagement will be heightened.

Eiko & Koma and pianist Margaret Leng Tan: Mourning

An “endlessly fascinating” creation (The New York Times), Mourning is a work of staggering power and finely-nuanced grace.

Butoh-inspired dancers Eiko & Koma pack deep emotion and trance-like magnetism into movement of glacial inevitability, summoning themes of mortality, grief, and consolation, much of it invoking “the devastation inflicted by humans on the environment.”

John Cage protégé Margaret Leng Tan animates the evening with sonorous torrents of sound from Cage, Somei Satoh, and Bonita Marcos.

Les Indigènes
During the WWII liberation of Europe, the Alsace region was essential to the allied victory. This victory was largely due to the accomplishment of recruits from Africa. With a reputation for endurance, sense of orientation and courage, more than 100,000 Africans were sent to the front lines. "Days of Glory" relates the forgotten story of four of these soldiers. While fighting for freedom, these soldiers, known as "Indigènes', faced racism in the military and in society, forcing them to struggle for equality of treatment at every turn. Showing On The Quad
