Broad-rounded, low branched tree with wide-spreading branches, thorns (up to 2" long), reaches 20 to 30 feet with equal spread, green leaf color turns bronze-red to purplish red in fall. White flowers of disagreeable odor for 7-10 days in May. Origin: Quebec to North Carolina and Kansas.
