Student Grade Reports
Almost all U.S. colleges and universities are required to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 as amended, also known as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment. Rights concerning access to educational records transfer from the parent to the student once the student reaches 18 years of age or begins attending any school beyond the secondary level. Parents can have access only if the student is willing to release information.
The registrar's office makes student grades available online shortly after the end of each semester. Students wishing to obtain a printed copy of the report can request one from the registrar's office prior to the end of each term. All first-year students will also have a copy of their fall semester grades mailed to them at their home address. Mid-term D and F grades are mailed to the student at both their campus address and are available online.
Further information is available in the Student Handbook and on the registrar's home page on the Lafayette web site.
