Many alumni, friends, and family look to make a significant investment in the life of the College. Whether it be creating an endowed fund to provide permanent support for scholarships, research, outreach programs, or acquisitions, contributing to a campus building initiative, or endowing a professorship, leadership donors realize the impact a gift of this magnitude leaves on the heart of the institution and the lives of the students today as well as the generations of those to come.
Lafayette believes that the process of making a major gift entails a strong relationship between the donor and the College. Traveling around the country and internationally, the Major Gifts staff partners with Lafayette alumni, parents and friends to identify personalized individual giving opportunities, to provide updates on the current happenings of the College, and to seek insight and perspective to bring back to the institution. Donors work together with a member of staff to create a philanthropic plan that matches their interests, passions, and charitable goals with the needs and priorities of the College. Giving and Naming Opportunities
Based on the donors' interests, there are a variety of possibilities to which a major gift can be made including facility and capital projects, scholarships, professorships, and other donor specified endowed funds. Many of these allow for a naming opportunity for the donor, a family member, or another person whose life the donor may want to honor or memorialize.
