Michael Moskow '59

Michael Moskow ’59, who retired as president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago last month, became a senior fellow at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs Sept. 1.

Moskow, who is a vice chairman of the council's board of directors, will focus on the issues of the global economy and ways in which The Chicago Council can address them.

The economics graduate received an honorary degree, Doctor of Public Service, at Lafayette’s 172nd Commencement on May 19. He has been a member of the Lafayette Board of Trustees since 1996.

He became the eighth president and CEO of the Chicago Fed in 1994. He served on the Federal Open Market Committee, the Federal Reserve System's most important monetary policymaking body. During the course of his career, he has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate for five government positions.
