USA Today includes the expert commentary of
John Kincaid, the Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service, in a Nov. 17 article (“States Lend a Hand in Time of Home Foreclosures”) on laws and programs state and local governments are putting in place to help residents with foreclosures and job losses brought on by the current economic downturn.
Kincaid is director of the College's Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Center for the Study of State and Local Government.
An excerpt follows:
It is too soon to know whether the new programs are helping, says John Kincaid, a government professor at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. "These efforts just got started," Kincaid says. "Do people stay in their homes? It's too early to tell."
