EASTON, Pa.(www.lafayette.edu), March 27, 2008 — The International Students’ Association (ISA) is hosting its annual Extravaganza April 5-12 to promote dialogue between cultural groups and of various global issues on campus. This year’s theme is “Defining Humanity,” a follow-up to last year’s theme, “One Root, Many Leaves.”
“We’ve embarked upon a mission to find what the Lafayette community’s collective definition of the word humanity is, given its broad context and reference to the overall experience of being a human,” says Al-Amin Kheraj ’08, an international affairs major and vice president of ISA.
Activities for this year include region-specific cultural exhibitions and brownbag lectures held during the lunch hour, evening group discussions, and a World Cup soccer tournament to be held April 5-6. The week will culminate on Friday, April 11 with an international dinner at 5:30 p.m., an international fashion show at 7 p.m., and the traditional Grand Finale, which will be held in the Williams Center for the Arts. Tickets are required to attend the Grand Finale. They can be obtained (one per person) from Kelly Deemer at the Student Life Office.
