EASTON, Pa.(www.lafayette.edu), May 6, 2008 — Signing up for alumni events is easier than ever, thanks to the new online registration feature available within the events calendar of the Alumni Online Community. Each calendar listing also provides detailed event information and a link to the names of those who already have registered online. Secure online payment with a credit card is available for events with fees. A confirmation email is sent following registration.
In conjunction with this feature, the Office of Alumni Affairs is transitioning from paper to electronic invitations for many events, including chapter activities, Homecoming, and the Lafayette-Lehigh football telecast parties. This makes starting the RSVP process as easy as clicking on a link within the email message or going directly to the Alumni Online Community. It also supports Lafayette’s initiative to become a more environmentally friendly campus by reducing the amount of paper used for invitations.
The transition to more electronic invitations also means it’s more important than ever to ensure that the College has your updated email address, which can be provided by registering for the Alumni Online Community or updating your account there. Registration for the Alumni Online Community is available on the alumni web site. Your password is listed above your name on your Alumni News mailing label and also can be obtained by sending a request to lftfeedback@alumniconnections.com
Nearly 6,000 alumni are using the online community to strengthen their connections with one another and Lafayette. More than 85% of the senior class registered in April. Features include:
- Individual Class Notes, with the option of posting a photograph;
- Permanent email forwarding through a College email address that directs messages to the account of your choice, enabling people to stay in touch even when their jobs and email providers change;
- An alumni directory that makes it easier to connect with other Lafayette graduates;
- Resume posting;
- A calendar of events.
The online community features a free, secure web site available exclusively to Lafayette alumni.
