On Move-in Day in August, parents of new students are invited to attend Parent Orientation. While students are attending their first Residence Hall Floor Meeting, parents attend a session presented by college personnel and upper-class students.

Lunch and Last Minute Details
Students and families enjoy lunch together and finish any last minute items before the day’s programs begin.
Lunch Location: Behind Pardee Hall (Rain site: Kamine Gym in Kirby Sports Center)
PARENT ORIENTATION
Parents attend an orientation program while students attend their first Residence Hall Floor Meeting.

Parent Orientation Program (Please be on time.)
Parents of new students will learn about the many services offered by the Parent Relations Office and will receive important information from the areas of academics, tutoring and student life. Upper-level students will offer their “Do’s and Don’ts” for parents based on their experiences and offer advice on how parents can respond to issues that may confront a new student. This is the time parents can ask their remaining questions before the semester begins.

3:15–4:00 p.m.
Welcome & Family Farewell
Students will join their families and classmates for the official opening of Student Orientation and Call to Assemble. There will be a time for last-minute advice and good-byes. Make a plan to meet your student for the Welcome program.

4:15–5:30 p.m.
President’s Reception for Families
Relax, enjoy light refreshments and meet President Byerly before leaving campus.
Location: President’s House (Rain site: Pfenning Alumni Center)
