  LAFAYETTE TODAY

The Ingenious Hidalgo

Highlights of the International Students Association’s annual week-long Extravaganza, a celebration of world cultures, included an innovative, bilingual staging of Don Quixote with an eight-foot puppet of Miguel Cervantes.

Students in a course on Cervantes’ masterpiece taught by Camille Qualtere, visiting instructor of foreign languages and literatures, joined other students, including members of the Hispanic Society of Lafayette. Actors from Touchstone Theater of Bethlehem helped them create and rehearse the interactive performance.

Along with ISA and HSL, sponsors included the departments of foreign languages and literatures and English, theater program, Friends of Skillman Library, and LINC, the Lafayette Intercultural Networking Council.
