LAFAYETTE TODAY
Pard Pride
on DVD
An interactive DVD will give new students a way of learning about the College’s rich past. Pard Pride: The History and Traditions of Lafayette is expected to be completed this summer
and given to the incoming class, says Deb Rhebergen ’03, assistant director of the annual fund and director of young alumni programs.
Among the topics are history, diversity, coeducation, the role of the military, and athletics. The DVD includes images from the College archives, a trivia game, short videos, an interactive campus map, and a lesson on
the “Alma Mater.”
“Many alumni talk of the
days of learning College songs and traditions. So much has changed over the years, and we hope this is a way for students to develop a greater connection with their Lafayette family,” Rhebergen says.
Trustee George Jenkins ’74 provided funding. Students participating in the production are Vanessa Araujo-Lopera ’08, who is majoring in international economics and commerce; Patrick Kelley ’09 (math);
and Danielle Schreier ’07
(art).
