  ALUMNI IN FOCUS

Sharing Insights

In panel discussions sponsored by Career Services, alumni representing a variety of undergraduate majors and current career fields spoke with students about their career experiences and shared views on future paths and possibilities. The events included graduates in English, history and American studies, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering, as well as alumni who have extensive experience abroad and ones currently in law school.

The panel of law school students included Anthony Cacace ’05, Matthew Gately ’06, Allison Ligorano ’06, William Simmons ’04, Erich Struble ’05, Tara Walsh ’06, and Lori Weaver ’06. They discussed the undergraduate academics and activities that helped prepare them for legal studies and described their current experiences. Afterwards, they spoke with students informally over dinner and dessert.

Jessica Cygler ’07 was among those who benefited from the event. “This gave me information to supplement what I’ve gotten from the dean of studies and from my own application experience,” she said. “I really valued the information about how to prepare for exam writing, something that I’ll be doing before long. They also gave me specific recommendations of books they found useful to their studies.”
