Books and Coffee
Faculty, staff, and students enjoyed java and munchies while chatting about the Harry Potter books in the kickoff event of the new Books and Coffee series. Elizabeth McMahon, professor
of mathematics, led the discussion in Skillman Library’s program room.
The Office of Student Life Programs organized the event. The idea: faculty or staff members lead discussions about books that students are reading for fun. The program gives students the opportunity to hear faculty and staff talk about topics that interest them apart from their research and teaching specialties.
“We think this will be a great way for students to interact
with faculty and staff members outside the classroom,” says
Kate Robbins, operations manager of student life programs. “It’s always great when students and faculty can find and talk about a common interest.”
