GREAT PLACE TO CALL HOME
Sullivan Lane Residential Village Dedicated

The Lafayette community gathered at Sullivan Lane Residential Village March 31 to dedicate the new student-housing complex with speeches and tours.

The $29 million complex houses 311 students in four attractive brick residences: Fisher Hall East, Fisher Hall West, Kamine Hall, and Rubin Hall. Honored at the ceremony were major benefactors Jim ’77 and Tracey Fisher; Hal ’78 and Kathleen Coogan Kamine ’78; and George ’64 and Lorraine B. Rubin.

The College also acknowledged the generous support of J. Peter ’75 and Janet Mauriello Simon ’75, in whose honor Simon’s, a popular eatery in Kamine Hall, is named, and that of Leon M. Wagner ’75, the Class of 1964, and the Brothers of Delta Upsilon in memory of Anthony J. Califano ’64, Patrick F. McNally ’64, and David R. Torre ’64.

Students participated in all key phases of the design process for the complex, which accommodates undergraduates from all four class years in a setting that encourages community. All buildings include air-conditioning, elevators, cooking and laundry facilities, and wireless Internet access. A focal point is the Class of 1964 Plaza, a multipurpose space that includes a grand staircase with seating, where students can gather for informal and formal activities. A brick-lined walkway extends from the village through Farinon Court to the area between Marquis Hall and Easton Hall.
