  Working Together

Ryan Spitz ’08 worked with Jamie McLaughlin ’76 in an internship at Lydian Wealth Management. McLaughlin is managing director in the firm’s New York City office.

“Lydian was the ideal place to gain entry into the business world. Jamie’s assignment of various projects forced me to learn about business by actively participating in the business world. The projects he assigned were really important because they’ll be used by the firm. He knows a lot about the industry and loves his job. I learned so much from him.”

Julie Zadow ’92 hosted an internship for Leah Schachar ’08 at Yankee Group, Boston. She’s the consulting firm’s vice president for events.

“It is sometimes difficult for a student to come out of an academic environment and do well in a business environment. However, Leah impressed many people with her ability to organize, set up interviews, and talk easily with some of the most important people in the industry. Not only did she show a great deal of maturity, but she was also a joy to have around. I think her sense of humor made us all want to enjoy our own work even more.”

Michael Whitman ’82 hosted an internship for Emily Egge ’07 at Power Medical Interventions, Langhorne, Pa. He’s PMI’s president and CEO.

“Emily picked up on a problem while sitting in on an engineering meeting during her first week here, and took it upon herself to develop a set of manufacturing tooling whose need was previously unrecognized. Once implemented, this tooling will reduce production time of this particular product, improve the consistency of the assembly process, and result in a higher-quality product.”
