THE INAUGURATION OF PRESIDENT DANIEL H. WEISS
The sixteenth president of Lafayette College
October 14, 2005 was the day Lafayette celebrated Daniel H. Weiss
as its 16th president and celebrated with Dan Weiss in a warm, festive, inspirational, personable, and especially happy series of activities.
The inauguration ceremony saw delegates from more than 40 colleges
and universities march in academic regalia inside the Kirby Sports Center, along with Lafayette’s faculty in their full regalia. The day’s events culminated with a student-hosted inaugural ball in Marquis Hall,
attended by more than 800.

Smiles and well wishes were everywhere, and contagious. “It is with great pride, humility, and a deep sense of purpose that I accept the responsibilities entrusted to me today,” President Weiss said.
