Curlee Raven Holton
Professor of Art
Director, Experimental Printmaking Institute

The Skillet, an etching by Curlee Raven Holton, was selected for inclusion in the collection of the Library of Congress. Yale University Art Gallery recently added Holton's etching/mono print Bred for Pleasure to its permanent collection. The work also is on display at the U.S. embassy in Dakar, Senegal, along with Legacy, a print Holton made to celebrate and support the creation of Melvin Edwards' campus sculpture honoring David Kearney McDonogh 1844, the College's first African American graduate.

A recipient of the College's Marquis Distinguished Teaching Award, Holton is an internationally known printmaker and artist. He has mounted more than 30 one-person shows and participated in more than 75 group exhibitions, including shows at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Seventh International Biennale in Cairo, Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm Gallery in Mexico City, and Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. His works are in the collections of many museums, universities, foundations, and corporations.
