Our Mission
The Counseling Center provides high quality, confidential counseling designed to help students learn how to meet their intellectual, interpersonal, and developmental goals. Our programs and services aim to promote a healthy, equitable, and positive campus community. The Counseling Center staff provides crisis intervention and offers consultation on matters related to student development and psychological well being. All services are conducted in a manner that is positive, empowering, and respectful of the diversity of the Lafayette community.
Confidentiality
All contacts are strictly confidential under the guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
(Confidentiality may not apply if a person presents an imminent danger to self or others or in the case of child abuse).
Email
Please note that we will do our best to keep your communications private, but confidentiality cannot be assured when using email. Moreover, emails should not be used for urgent communication. If you need to speak with a counselor during normal business hours (Monday - Friday; 8:45-5), please call the Counseling Center. In case of an emergency when the Counseling Center is closed, individuals should contact the Office of Public Safety at 610-330-4444.
