Corporate sponsor WYBE-TV, Philadelphia, is helping promote the Robeson Conference at Lafayette in many ways including airing promotional spots in March and early April. Conference organizers John McCartney, professor and head of government and law, and Sam Hay, visiting professor of government and law, will appear on WYBE's weekly program "Shades of Opinion" on Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. The half-hour show will be devoted entirely to a discussion of the Robeson Conference April 7-9.
WYBE is a member-supported, independent, public television station broadcasting to the greater Philadelphia region on channel 35 (UHF analog) and 34 (digital). Eight cable companies including Comcast and RCN carry it on 80 stations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. WYBE has been on the air since 1990.
The station will promote the conference and the March 24 "Shades of Opinion" show in Connections, WYBE's monthly program guide. The March issue listing of the "Shades" show will briefly mention the guests and the conference. The April issue of Connections will include a half-page promotion that will include an image of the Robeson poster and a brief description of the conference. WYBE will also feature the Robeson conference on the front page of their website beginning in mid-March.
Following the conference, WYBE plans to air a 90-second to two-minute piece showing highlights of the conference as "filler" between their regularly scheduled programs.
Lafayette appreciates WYBE's support of the Robeson Conference.
