Lafayette men’s basketball players Seth Hinrichs ’15 and Joey Ptasinski ’15 were named to the 2013-14 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court. To make the list, students must be juniors or seniors and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year.
In the College’s 13 Division I spring sports, 164 students were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. A $1.2 million renovation is underway at Rappolt Field, the home of Lafayette field hockey. Seventeen of Lafayette’s 23 Division I sports have received 2014 NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program Public Recognition Awards. These awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in each sport with their Academic Progress Rates. The APR is the NCAA’s measure of academic achievement for every Division I team.

Biology major Cory Spera ’15 (Lorton, Va.) was named the Patriot League Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A right-handed pitcher, Spera carries a 3.89 cumulative grade-point average and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice. He is Lafayette’s fourth Patriot League Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honoree.
