The George Washington Presidential Library

Join us as we take a unique look at the history surrounding the 200th anniversary of Lafayette College at the George Washington Presidential Library Wednesday, Oct. 22.

This event will include an opportunity to hear from Presidential Library staff and see a collection of letters and other artifacts related to the enduring mentorship between the Marquis de Lafayette and President George Washington. Archivists from the College will be on hand to discuss the amazing collection in our own Skillman Library—as well as the exciting exhibition that will be taking place in Paris in 2026, featuring many pieces from the College’s collection—in celebration of the College’s Bicentennial and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Lafayette Between France and America: History & Legend will be at the National Archives of France from April 1-July 14th, 2026.
