President Nicole Hurd teams up with Peloton for a special fitness challenge in celebration of Lafayette’s Bicentennial year

Dear Lafayette College community,

As our monumental Bicentennial year continues, I invite you to join me for a challenge that celebrates our College’s history and shared commitment to our future: The Bicentennial Tour fitness challenge!

Movement is a way we find community and cultivate connections. In this time of great celebration at Lafayette, we aim to continue bringing people together. With many Bicentennial events happening in person, this challenge is a chance for us to get together globally—with no travel needed.

From Dec. 27, 2025, through Sept. 6, 2026, we encourage you to move in whatever way makes you feel best—whether it is joining me for cycling and other workout challenges in the Peloton app, or any other fitness activity.

And this is more than just a fitness challenge; it’s a way to walk, run, and move through 200 years of Lafayette’s remarkable story, together. Let’s move to celebrate 200 years of Lafayette excellence. I look forward to touring with you.

Tour the Milestones, Claim the Prizes.

There are four distinct minute goals for this challenge that tie directly to Lafayette’s history: 200, 1,826, 1,926, and 2,026.

How you reach those minute goals is up to you: You could take your pups for daily walks, participate in a yoga or Zumba class, or hit the gym to feel the burn. You can also join President Nicole Hurd’s Peloton team, Lafayette College 200, available in the Peloton app. Here, you can cycle, run, meditate, walk, stretch, practice yoga, and more alongside your fellow Pards. We’ll introduce pop-up challenges and friendly races where you will be able to cheer each other on!

As a thank-you for your participation, you’ll be rewarded at each milestone.

Your first goal is 200 minutes. Achieve it, and you’ll earn your prize: an exclusive “The Bicentennial Tour” T-shirt.
Make it to 1,826 minutes? You’ll receive a Bicentennial water bottle and sticker.
Continuing the tour to 1,926 minutes? We have a Bicentennial commemorative hat for you.
Complete the tour by logging 2,026 minutes and receive the ultimate prize: a custom Lafayette College Bicentennial Tour finisher medal.

The challenge begins on Dec. 27—the date that citizens of Easton held a meeting to begin the process of establishing a college in the town—and ends September 6, 2026, on the Marquis de Lafayette’s birthday.

Participants who post their fitness activities on social media using #LafayetteCollege200 will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to the final event in our Bicentennial year—a very special 2026 NYC Holiday Party.

Ready to start your tour?

Whether you’re a student on College Hill or an alum hundreds of miles away, register today to start your tour. This is a chance to build community, celebrate our history, and motivate each other throughout this special year in four easy steps:

Register. Sign up to officially join The Bicentennial Tour.
Move. Record your fitness minutes, whether it’s in an app you already use (i.e., Apple Health, Strava, etc.) or written on a piece of paper.
Claim your merch. Once you hit a milestone, submit proof using our easy form. Prizes will be mailed to the address listed in your entry on a rolling basis and are based on availability.

Share on social. Post your activities to social media using #LafayetteCollege200 for a chance to win additional Bicentennial prizes, including admission to the 2026 NYC Holiday Party.
