When President Nicole Farmer Hurd was asked what she was most looking forward to in her role at Lafayette, her response was, “We believe deeply that when you live someplace, it becomes part of you, and I think you need to make a commitment to show up fully. We are excited to learn about our new home—the people, the place, the history.”
Get involved and tell President Hurd about your favorite “spot” on campus and why. Whether you are a student, a faculty member, an alum, a staff member, or a fan, now’s your opportunity to celebrate your connection to Lafayette. Perhaps it is a quiet nook in Rockwell where you like to study. Or, under a maple tree on the Quad. Or, row M on the home side of Fisher Stadium when you return for the Rivalry game. Whatever your favorite spot is on campus, President Hurd wants to hear about it!
Join in the fun by filling out the “My Spot is Here” card. Print, and post your card on the bulletin board located in the atrium of Farinon College Center during Inauguration Week (Sept. 24-Oct 2). The bulletin board will be moved under the tent on the Quad on Oct. 1 (Day of the Inauguration Ceremony) for all to read. Additional cards will be distributed to the campus community during Inauguration Week. Who knows, maybe you’ll see President Hurd in your spot one day sipping tea!
Can’t make it to campus? Using the form below, email us and a staff members will ensure your card is posted during Inauguration Week.
We invite alumni, parents, and friends to be part of a video compilation for President Nicole Farmer Hurd to welcome her to the Lafayette community. It is fast and easy to record and add your personal sentiments to the Tribute page. The final video will be available on this page on October 1.
